#WelcomingEurope. We Are a Welcoming Europe

Rome (NEV), September 4, 2018 – A video to promote the petition “Welcoming Europe.” This initiative has been developed in Italy by the FCEI together with other bodies* with three objectives: to say enough to criminalize solidarity, to create safe migration channels, to guarantee justice to all victims of abuse.

In Italy, this petition was submitted on April 19, 2018  and it aims to launch a European Citizens’ Initiative (ICE)  to enforce our claim by collecting 1 million signatures in at least 7 Member States within 12 months. Then, achieved this goal, the European Commission and the European Parliament will be forced to examine the requests.

Along with Italy, promoter committees have been set up in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Hungary. Many are the European network involved.

The ICE proposal was registered at the European Commission in December 2017 and approved in February 2018. In Italy, the launch of the campaign  took place on April 19, 2018. The petition can be signed by February 2019.
