COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIP
According to the community sponsorship model, indivi duals, friends and colleagues, members of a community, come together to take the initiative of hosting newly arrived refugees in their area/territory. With the assistance of FCEI, they form a community hosting group which then supports a refugee family or person with whatever they need to settle in their new community. For refugee people, the community sponsorship model provides a support network that helps them set tle more quickly and rebuild a full and meaningful life. For communities, it is a transformative experience that strengthens bonds and brings people together around a common project.
